About

Hi, I'm Brenda Joy...

I am a straightforward and high-energy coach who takes a holistic approach to help people identify and achieve their purposeful goals. I am committed, open-minded and trustworthy…I am also known for my ability to have honest…and sometimes tough…conversations; in turn, I create customized and meaningful strategic plans with purpose driven accountability.

My extensive human resources experience extends across the public and private sectors…specifically public relations, hospitality and restaurant industries. I am a trusted partner and advisor who is energized and motivated by delivering comprehensive human-centered strategies that advance an organizations business strategy. I am capable of evaluating existing operations to identify inefficiencies and redundancies, innovating process improvements to optimize workflow, improve employee engagement and foster organizational growth.

In addition to my professional career, I launched my non-profit, Joyful Lamentations, in January 2015. Through Joyful Lamentations, I operate an anti-bullying ministry, homeless ministry and a pen-pal ministry…fulfilling my purpose to utilize my gift of writing and creativity in order to inspire people, especially children, throughout the world. And now, my efforts with Joyful Lamentations have officially expanded with the addition of my coaching & consulting practice…bridging my professional expertise and life “passion” experiences.

A native of St. Louis, I am a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University, and I hold a MPS in Paralegal Studies from The George Washington University, and a MA specializing in Human Rights from the International Institute of Social Studies located in The Hague, Netherlands. I am a Certified Professional Coach…via the Life Purpose Institute…and also hold multiple Society for Human Resource Management Specialty Credentials. And my life motto is “have God will travel” … without hesitation!
